Christmas Santa Diorama Lantern
This decorative winter lantern features a white painted metal frame with clear glass panes and an overhead carry ring. Fixed securely inside is a miniature holiday scene featuring a Santa figure in a gray faux-fur trimmed coat holding a red cardinal, a vintage-style red pickup truck transporting an evergreen tree, a frosted bottle brush pine, and a bed of artificial snow.
Background Note
Enclosed holiday lantern dioramas draw on a long tradition of European winter garden displays and Victorian shadowbox craft. The miniature bottle brush trees featured in these seasonal scenes trace back to the 1930s, when the Addis Brush Company adapted machine-twisted bristle technology to produce durable, snowy tabletop Christmas evergreens.
