Raimond Sterling Silver Salt Cellar Set
This Raimond sterling silver set includes two scuttle-style salt cellars and two matching miniature salt spoons, presented in the original velvet-lined presentation box. Each cellar features embossed floral scroll motifs along the body, a contoured handle, and a round pedestal base, with the underside stamped with the Raimond signature mark.
Background Note
Miniature scuttle-shaped salt cellars originated during the Victorian era as novel tabletop accessories designed to mimic household coal scuttles. Raimond Silversmiths, established in Massachusetts in the mid-20th century, produced a wide range of sterling silver and silverplate giftware and formal dining accessories. Boxed salt cellar sets were popular traditional wedding gifts and formal table accents during the mid-to-late 20th century.
