Decorative Ceramic Tile Trivet

Background Note

Trivets have been used for centuries to prevent heat damage to dining and serving surfaces. The use of ceramic tiles for decorative and functional purposes, particularly with intricate patterns, has a rich tradition spanning many cultures, especially evident in Mediterranean and Moorish artistry. These patterns often draw inspiration from natural elements and geometric forms, making functional items like trivets into small pieces of art. This particular item is noted as locally made, connecting it to contemporary artisan crafts.
