This vintage sideboard features a dark painted main cabinet accented by warm wood-toned drawer fronts and door panels. The center section contains two wide drawers flanked by two side cabinet doors featuring intricate brass medallion escutcheons and ornate drop handles. The unit is supported by carved legs connected by decorative lower stretchers.

Founded in 1892, the Royal Furniture Company of Grand Rapids, Michigan, specialized in high-grade traditional cabinetwork and historic revival styles. In 1919, the firm was acquired by Robert W. Irwin and operated under the Imperial Furniture Company umbrella while continuing to mark its premier pieces with a trademark brass medallion badge. Grand Rapids earned nationwide acclaim during the early 20th century as America's center for fine residential furniture production.
