Background Note
Introduced in 1968 by Arc International in northern France, the Cristal d'Arques brand became famous for pioneering automated industrial processes for lead crystal production. Prior to this innovation, high-lead crystal was strictly hand-blown and hand-cut, making it an exclusive luxury. By mechanizing the manufacturing of intricate cut patterns, the company made fine European crystal durable and widely accessible for everyday barware and home entertaining.
