Grandeur Noel 1994 Porcelain Nativity Set
This nine-piece porcelain Nativity set includes the Holy Family—infant Jesus in a manger, Mary, and Joseph—alongside three Magi bearing gifts, a standing shepherd carrying a lamb, a resting sheep, and a reclining donkey. Each figurine is crafted from cast porcelain with a matte hand-painted finish in muted earth tones, soft teal, and subtle gilded highlights on garments and crowns. Complete with its original collector box packaging, this multi-figure arrangement depicts the traditional Christmas creche tableau.
Background Note
Produced by O'Well Novelty in 1994, this set was released as part of their collectible holiday porcelain line that later popularized the Grandeur Noel series. Founded in the late 20th century, O'Well specialized in finely detailed seasonal ceramics and village houses, often distributing annual limited-run holiday editions through major department stores and wholesale clubs. The pieces carry the distinct classical styling characteristic of mid-1990s holiday porcelain, featuring soft sculptural drapery and understated hand-shaded glazes.
