Mr. Bingle Live Edge Serving Board
Handcrafted by Tee-Lu's Lagniappe, this round live edge wood cookie and serving board features an engraved holiday illustration of New Orleans icon Mr. Bingle beneath the script phrase "Jingle Jangle Jingle." Retaining its natural bark perimeter, the cross-cut wooden slab displays pronounced growth rings and organic graining, complete with a flat reverse surface bearing the artisan's stamped maker mark.
Background Note
Created in 1947 by the Maison Blanche department store on Canal Street in New Orleans, Mr. Bingle served as a festive regional mascot recognized by his upside-down ice cream cone hat, holly wings, and candy cane staff. Originally brought to life as a window puppet by puppeteer Edwin "Skeets" Mims, the character became an enduring cultural icon of Gulf Coast holiday celebrations.
